She held a steaming mug of cocoa, the warmth radiating through her fingers. She’d just finished "The Clockwork Heart" by Arthur Finch, and a sense of profound satisfaction filled her. She loved Finch’s clever inventions and intricate stories.

She heard her phone. A news report popped up. Finch’s work was accused of being based on someone else’s. Sophie closed her eyes, trying to ignore the intrusive thoughts. The swing, the cocoa, the evening air – these were things that brought her a sense of peace. Why allow this to ruin it?
